Tästä kaulaliinasta tuli kertaheitolla lempparini. Jo pelkästään tuon langan vuoksi, joka on aivan ihanaa: muhkeaa, pumpulinpehmyttä ja kevyttä. Eikä tuo uutuusvärikään ole hassumpi, luonnossa sellainen utuinen lila. Muhkeutensa vuoksi kaulaliina myös valmistui tosi nopeasti, siinä joulutohinoiden lomassa. Pituutta sillä on hieman yli puolitoista metriä.

Ohjeessa lankasuosituksena oli Debbie Blissin Como, mutta sen valmistus on ilmeisesti lopetettu, enkä onnistunut löytämään sitä enää mistään verkkokaupasta, ainakaan tuon seitsemän kerän verran. Valitsin sitten tämän Paloman, joka koostumukseltaan on vastaava, 60 % babyalpakkaa, 40 % merinovillaa. Se on kehrätty nyörimäiseksi, paksuksi ja ontoksi. Niin ja sanoinko jo että se on aivan ihanaa? Toinen lanka jota mietin tähän projektiin oli Rowanin Big Wool, mutta päätin sitten valita tämän.

This superchunky seashell scarf became instantly my favorite. I like the contemporary designer look and the softness, lightness and chunkyness of the yarn. And it only took me a couple of evenings to make. What could be better? The scarf is about 25 cm wide and over 170 cm long.

The instruction suggested that the scarf should be made of Como by Debbie Bliss, but I was unable to find it anywhere even though I did a lot of detective work and searched all the yarn shops online. I guess it's not been manufactured anymore? So I substituted Como with Paloma, it's blend and yarn weight are quite similar to Como, 60 % babyalpaca and 40 % merino wool. I fell in love with this yarn for it's luxurious and "bulk without weight" -feeling. Other yarn that I considered for this project was Rowan's Big Wool, but I ended up with this Paloma. Luckily so.
